I was pleased to accompany Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca and Environment and Climate Change Minister Glen Murray to IKEA in Etobicoke-Lakeshore recently, where it was announced that the province is working with 24 public and private sector partners to build close to 500 electric vehicle charging stations at over 250 location in Ontario. I am delighted that three of these stations will be built in Etobicoke-Lakeshore at IKEA, 1475 The Queensway, SNC-Lavalin, 304 The East Mall and Bloor islington Place, 3250 Bloor Street West. By investing in charging infrastructure that is fast, reliable and affordable, more Ontarians will be encouraged to purchase electric vehicles, which will contribute to less greenhouse gas pollution and cleaner air. With more public charging stations available, electric vehicle owners can now plan longer trips with more confidence that a charging station is readily available.
